東區醫院同時與其前身雅麗氏何妙齡那打 素醫院關係密切，而後者的母會 — 雅麗 氏何妙齡那打素慈善基金會 ( 下稱「慈善 基金會」)多年來持續支持東區醫院的院 牧服務、社區及病人資源部以及多項全新 服務和培訓設備。東區醫院期望未來將繼 續與慈善基金會並肩發展，透過嶄新的服 務模式和醫療設備，滿足區內居民的醫療 服務需求。
按「醫院管理局檢討督導委員會報告」的 建議，港島東醫院聯網制定了臨床服務計 劃，勾劃出聯網的服務策略、服務發展意 向、未來服務模式及各醫院的角色定位， 並展示醫院規劃與設施的發展藍本，目標 為應對區內居民的長遠醫療服務需求，同 時提升病人、職員及社區體驗。東區醫院 按臨床服務計劃所構思的願景去制定發展 概念計劃，有關概念計劃為醫院的日後發 展及基礎建設奠下重要框架，當中綜合了 硬件需求、運作需要、發展潛力及臨床服 務願景。臨床服務計劃已於二零二零年 十二月發佈。
主要成就
持續應對 2019 冠狀病毒病疫情
2019 冠狀病毒病疫情自二零二零年初爆發 至今，港島東醫院聯網一直謹守崗位，於 一波又一波疫情爆發中細心治理每一位患 者。聯網同時配合政府的防疫措施，支援 2019 冠狀病毒病檢測服務，並配合 2019 冠狀病毒病疫苗接種計劃，由東區醫院及 其他聯網醫院的醫護人員參與，協助籌備 指定普通科門診診所及設於西灣河體育館 的社區疫苗接種中心，為市民提供疫苗接 種服務，與社會各界攜手應對疫情。

PYNEH also maintains close connection with its predecessor, the Alice Ho Miu Ling Nethersole Hospital and her parent organization, the Alice Ho Miu Ling Nethersole Charity Foundation (AHNCF) which has been providing unfailing support to the PYNEH's Chaplaincy Service, the Community and Patient Resource Department, as well as new services and training facilities. PYNEH has continued its development side by side with AHNCF, to meet the medical needs of the community through the provision of advanced service models and medical equipment.
In line with the "Report of the Steering Committee on Review of Hospital Authority", HKEC has developed the Cluster Services Plan (CSP) to map out the cluster's clinical strategies, intended service development, future service models and role delineation of individual hospitals. It also reveals the blueprint of planning and facility development of hospitals, aiming to address the long- term healthcare needs of the local community and ultimately to provide better experience for patients, staff and community. The vision presented in the CSP is used as the key reference for the development of a concept plan for PYNEH. It synthesizes physical requirements, operational needs, development potential and vision for the clinical service delivery, underpinning the physical development and design of the future PYNEH. The CSP was published in December 2020.
Key Achievements Ongoing Battle Against COVID-19
From the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, HKEC has been guarding its post to cautiously treat patients from one wave of outbreak to another. HKEC also works closely with the government on the implementation of anti-pandemic measures, including the provision of COVID-19 testing services, and on COVID-19 Vaccination Programme. Supported by clinical staff of PYNEH and other cluster hospitals, designated general outpatient clinics are prepared and the Sai Wan Ho Sports Centre Community Vaccination Centre are set up to provide vaccination services to members of the public, in combating against the pandemic.
