東區醫院十分重視推動以人為先的文化，
面對人手短缺，聯網積極增聘護士、專職
醫療人員和病人服務助理，並努力改善支
援人員在職率。聯網致力維持一個快樂和
優秀的工作團隊，在二零一四年六月獲得
家庭議會頒發機構組「傑出家庭友善僱主
2013/14
」（非政府機構和社會企業）獎項，
表彰在促進家庭友善僱傭政策的成就。聯
網會繼續加強員工培訓和發展，包括為醫
護人員提供模擬培訓。
為應付未來挑戰，東區醫院已增撥資源，
包括於二零一四年七月增設

院病床，並提供兩張指定病床以加強對需
要使用呼吸器的病人的服務。為縮短病人
輪候時間，聯網提升服務量。東區醫院於
二零一四年十二月起每週增設五個手術室
節數，以及裝修新樓層提升內窺鏡檢驗
部設施。另外，聯網為末期腎病病人增加
十個醫院血液透析名額及三個家居自動腹
膜透析名額。
Key Achievements
Fostering the People First culture is of paramount importance,
especially amidst manpower strain. HKEC continued to recruit
additional nurses, allied health staff and patient care assistants
and strived to improve occupancy rate of supporting posts. HKEC
accorded priority to sustaining a happy and competent workforce.
The award “Distinguished Family-Friendly Employers 2013/14” of
category “organizations” (for non-governmental organizations)
granted by the Family Council in June 2014 recognizes HKEC’s
outstanding achievements in the promotion of family-friendly
employment practices. HKEC continued enhancing training and
development initiatives including provision of simulation training
courses for the professionals.
PYNEH stepped up its responses to meet challenges ahead. 40
additional acute medical inpatient beds were opened in July 2014
and two medical beds were designated to improve care for patients
on mechanical ventilation. Service capacity was expanded to better
manage waiting times. Five additional operating theatre sessions per
week had been added in PYNEH since December 2014. Facilities for
the Combined Endoscopy Unit in PYNEH were augmented with the
renovation of a new floor. Hospital haemodialysis was provided to
ten extra patients and home automated peritoneal dialysis to three
extra patients with end-stage renal disease.
