Provision of additional manpower support for
radiological services to meet the operational
needs
我們深明一個全人關顧及宜人環境有利於
病人於治療過程中提升正向經驗，亦協助
員工提供高質素服務。有見及此，我們特
別投放資源提升院內基礎建設，為病人提
供更現代化的設施。全賴雅麗氏何妙齡那
打素慈善基金會以及醫院管治委員會的悉
心指導、員工齊心努力，以及聯網和社區
夥伴的鼎力支持下，所有規劃才得以成功
落實。俗語云「齊心事成」，在各專業團隊
的不懈支持下，我們深信本院未來發展定
必更見進步，而我們亦能繼續為社區及廣
大市民提供更優質服務。

為應付大埔區日益增加的醫療需求、回應
居民對本院提升服務能力的期望，本院積
極推行多項措施，着手解決服務不勝負荷
的問題。我們額外增聘更多放射科醫生和
放射治療師，支援電腦斷層掃描（
CT
）、
超聲波和手術室工作，務求加強放射診斷
服務以滿足需求，並縮短新界東醫院聯網
放射檢查的輪候時間。此外，本院積極培
訓支援人員，確保其有能力協助處理診斷
室和需要人手操作處理的工作；我們亦重
新編排員工職務、精簡現行工作流程，確
保更有效善用人力資源。上述措施成效令
人滿意，其中電腦斷層掃描和超聲波掃描
器使用率得到全面提升，分別額外服務了
4,494
名和
2,624
人次。我們正積極準備安裝
磁力共振檢查儀器（
MRI
），擴大服務範圍，
讓更多市民受惠。
Fostering a holistic and user-friendly environment is crucial to
offering positive patient experience on their individual journeys and
supporting staff in the provision of high quality service. Hence, we
have invested resources to upgrade and enhance our infrastructure
to modernize our facilities for our patients. The successful
implementation of all the planned initiatives would not have been
possible without the guidance of the Alice Ho Miu Ling Nethersole
Charity Foundation (AHNCF), Hospital Governing Committee,
exemplary efforts of our staff, as well as the unwavering support from
the Cluster and the community partners. By leveraging the collective
efforts of our team of professionals, we are confident that we shall
be able to spearhead the future development and achieve greater
outcomes for patients and the community at large.
Better Manage Growing Service Demand
With growing expectation over our service capacity to meet the
medical needs in Tai Po District, AHNH implemented initiatives to
tackle the issues of overstretched services. We made significant
progress with the enhancement of our Radiology services to meet
the escalating demand and to address the long waiting time for
radiological exams in the New Territories East Cluster, employing
additional radiologists and radiographers to support the radiology
services in Computed Tomography (CT), Ultrasound and Operating
Theatre. Besides, our hospital had trained up supporting staff to
provide assistance in the exam room and take up manual handling
works, rearranging the staff duties and streamlining the existing
work process to enable more efficient use of manpower resources.
The outcome was pleasing, that the utilization of CT and ultrasound
scanner throughput was maximized by having additional 4,494
and 2,624 patient attendances respectively. Besides, active
preparation was underway for the installation of Magnetic
Resonance Imaging (MRI) to enhance the accessibility and scope
of service.
