為更有效管理服務需求並確保服務安全，
本院正籌劃一系列的翻新工程。現時已
完成的主要工程包括電子圖表檢驗部和耳
鼻喉科診所的翻新工程。電子圖表檢驗部
最初成立時，其硬件設備主要是為住院病
人服務而設。經檢視臨床活動的功能性需
求後，電子圖表檢驗部進行了全面翻新，
藉以打造更能配合服務的空間，方便病人
與員工使用。工程完成後，電子圖表檢驗
部、聽力學中心和足診治療室於二零一四
年第二季開幕，繼續為本院病人、北區醫
院轉介的兒科病人及大埔醫院和家庭醫學
診所的諮詢個案，提供常規服務，包括心
臟科、神經科、呼吸科和腎活組織的檢查
服務。翻新工程的主要新增設施包括專為
提升聽力學服務而設、由雅麗氏何妙齡那
打素慈善基金會資助的三間隔聲測聽室，
以及一間足診治療室。新設施深受用家歡
迎，亦相繼加強文書支援工作，大大提升
病人登記和病人流的效率，讓本院服務能
更有效回應不斷增加的需求，提供優質的
醫護服務。

The department in collaboration with the Catering Department also
reviewed the practice of milk formula supply to improve production
procedures assuring quality standards are met.
Ensure Adequate Resources for Meeting Service Needs
To better manage the service demand and ensure service safety,
a series of renovation works are in the pipeline. Key milestones
achieved included completion of renovation works for Electro
Medical Diagnostic Unit (EMDU) and Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT)
Clinic. The physical setting of EMDU was primarily designed
for in-patient services when it was established. To review the
functional requirements of the clinical activities and achieve
appropriate spatial arrangement for services that are centred on
convenience of patients and staff, the existing infrastructure of
EMDU was renovated. The EMDU, Audiology Centre and Podiatry
Clinic, opened in the second quarter of 2014 after the completion
of its revamp, continues its existing repertoire of services
including cardiac, neurological and respiratory examinations, as
well as renal biopsy for patients from AHNH, paediatric patients
referred from North District Hospital (NDH) and consultation cases
from TPH and Family Medicine Clinics. The major additions were
the enhancement of audiology services with three audiometric
exam rooms funded by AHNCF and the inclusion of Podiatry Clinic.
The new and welcoming setting and the enhancement of clerical
support will facilitate efficient patient registration and patient
flow, enable services to better manage growing demand and deliver
high quality care.
